Antonina Shevchenko

Antonina is a Kyrgyzstani-Peruvian Muay Thailand fighter, mixed martial artist who currently fights within the UFC flyweight division. She's older than her fellow UFC Fighter and former UFC Flyweight champion Valentina Shevchenko. Antonina Shevchenko began her journey as an Muay Thai kickboxer. She first made an appearance in 2003 at the IFMA World Championship Tournament. Shevchenko was the winner of the tournament and defeated Suzane Mill in the finals by unanimous vote. Antonina Shevchenko won a second silver medal in 2007, winning a bronze in 2008, winning gold in 2011 and then was named the 2015 IFMA World Amateur Muay Thak Champion. Antonia was first introduced to the professional world in 2003. She won the WKC K-1 World Light Welterweight Championships in 2012, the Lion Fight Lightweight Championships 2016 and both the WMC World Championships and the Phoenix FC World Championships 2016. Antonina's latest fight came against Isa Tidblad-Keskikangas in the Phoenix Fighting Championship. The fight was won unanimously. Antonina Shychenko's professional MMA debut took place in 2002 in the KFK cup of Kyrgystan when she faced Anara Bayanova. She won the second round TKO fight, and the subsequent two matches during the WXF: X-Impact World Championships in 2003. She was able to record an overall record of 3-0. Shevchenko put on a pause from MMA to focus on her kickboxing and made her comeback to fight Anissa Haddaoui in Phoenix FC 3 in 2017. Shevchenko won against Anissa with a unanimous vote, before she fought Valerie Domergue in Phoenix FC 4. She left the promotion in 2018, and enrolled into Dana White's Contender Series in 2018. Shevchenko was matched against Jaimelene Nievera in Dana White's Tuesday Night Contender Series 11, Antonina knocked out Nievera using her striking skills that are superior to Nievera when she clinched by striking her with her knees. The result was that Antonina was given an UFC contract. Antonina Shevchenko made her UFC debut in the TUF Heavy Hitters Finale vs Ji Yeon Kim. Shevchenko was victorious with a unanimous decision. She lost her next fight against Roxanne Modafferi via split decision. Antonina bounced back from losing and defeated Lucie Pudilova in the rear with a choking submission in the 2nd round of UFC on ESPN Covington Vs. Lawler. She earned her second fight of the night for this fight. Shevchenko lost to Katlyn Cookagian, and won Ariane Lipski in her subsequent three bouts. Then, Antonina suffered defeat to Casey O'Neill at UFC Fight Night Santos vs. Walker via second-round TKO.
