Kim Delaney is an American actress best known as the character the role of Detective Diane Russell in ABCs series NYPD Blue for which she garnered an Emmy Award. Her most well-known role is her role on All My Children Philly CSI: Miami, Army Wives. Delaney was born as the sole child of her mother who was a homemaker and high-ranking executive of her union, the United Auto Workers. Delaney spent most of her childhood with 4 brothers. When she was a little girl, Delaney hoped to work as a reporter in the courtroom. But in highschool the time came when she began modeling for commercials, and later after moving to New York. When she was a teenager her first appearance as an actor was on the soap opera All My Children. Since then Delaney has been featured in many TV dramas and films. She has not had a good or satisfying personal life. The talented actor has had to battle alcoholism, and has had two failed marriages. In 2005, her custody was confiscated from her.
